Box of Bugs is a site that helps comic lovers stay up to date with their favorite comics and never miss an update. It also helps you find new comics you'll love.
What it's not.
This is not a webcomics publishing site. You won't read other peoples comics here. The intent is for you to go visit their site to read their comics there. This helps the artists because they will benefit directly from your eyeballs.
How does it work?
Well, you can subscribe to a comic for updates. Every day you'll receive an email with all the comics that have been updated since the last time we notified you. You can also visit your feeds and see a list of comics you've subscribed to and when they were last updated. If you're tech savvy, you can even use a newsreader and subscribe to your feeds (or someone else's feeds) and read the comics that way.
While you browse the main page you'll also be suggested other comics based on the tags of the comics you've subscribe to.
Why?
The internet gave the opportunity to comic artists to be able to distribute their work more widely and more affordably. But, for over a decade, walled gardens that make it convenient for readers to access comics have made it more difficult for artists to benefit from this wider readership. It's difficult for artists to add links to their sites, to promote merch you might want, and so on. My goal is to bring the benefit of ease of discovery and notification but help artists connect with the reader more directly.
There's a ton to do and the things I mentioned above are not yet ready or complete. But, I'm working on them. Let's make this work!
